Arsenal and Chelsea have both reportedly intensified their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, with the Serbian international’s future at the Serie A club uncertain. Vlahovic has been in talks with Juventus over a new contract, but with negotiations at a standstill, the club could look to sell him if an agreement is not reached soon. This situation has presented a potential opportunity for both Premier League clubs, as they are in the market for a top striker.
Arsenal’s interest in Vlahovic comes as part of their ongoing search for a reliable number nine following Gabriel Jesus’s struggles with form. Arsenal has also been linked to other attacking options, including Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres. However, with Vlahovic’s contract situation at Juventus, which expires in 2026, there is a possibility that the striker could be available this summer. Vlahovic, who was signed by Juventus from Fiorentina for £70 million in January 2022, has scored 50 goals in 118 appearances for the club, including six goals in 13 Serie A matches this season. If Juventus fails to secure a new deal with him, they may seek to sell the forward rather than risk losing him for free when his contract runs out.
Chelsea, on the other hand, is also eyeing Vlahovic as they consider bolstering their attack, especially with Nicolas Jackson showing strong form this season. While the competition for Vlahovic’s signature intensifies, Arsenal and Chelsea are not the only clubs interested in the striker. Manchester United is also reportedly keeping an eye on Vlahovic as a potential replacement for their current forwards, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, both of whom have struggled in front of goal, scoring only five goals combined so far this season.
Despite United’s interest, Arsenal and Chelsea are seen as more likely suitors due to United’s recent £100 million investment in Hojlund and Zirkzee, making a move for Vlahovic less probable in comparison. This situation is set to develop as Vlahovic’s future at Juventus becomes clearer in the coming months.
