In Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League home game in charge, Manchester United produced an impressive 4-0 victory over Everton, with Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each scoring twice. After being held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich in his debut match, Amorim’s side was unrecognizable in this encounter, dominating from start to finish.

The game began with Everton showing some early promise, with Beto missing a couple of chances, but Manchester United quickly took control. In the 34th minute, Rashford opened the scoring with a low strike that deflected off Jarrad Branthwaite following a well-placed corner from Bruno Fernandes. Just seven minutes later, Zirkzee, making his first Premier League start since September, doubled the lead. He finished from close range after another assist from Fernandes, who capitalized on a defensive error by Branthwaite.

Everton’s hopes of a comeback were dashed early in the second half. Just 20 seconds after the restart, another mistake in their defense allowed Amad Diallo to set up Rashford for his second goal, securing a comfortable 3-0 lead for United. Diallo continued to shine, stealing the ball from James Tarkowski and charging forward to provide Zirkzee with a perfect assist. Zirkzee finished calmly to make it 4-0, completing his brace and putting the match well beyond Everton’s reach.

The performance was a clinical one from Manchester United, who scored four goals from just five shots on target. The win lifted them to ninth place in the Premier League standings, while Everton’s struggles continued. The Toffees, now without a win in five league matches and failing to score in four, remained just two points above the relegation zone in 15th.

Amad Diallo was the standout player of the match, earning praise for his creativity and contributions, while Everton’s poor defensive showing left them with much to ponder.
